Department of Bio Technology
Accredited by NBA
The Department of Biotechnology was established at Joginpally B.R Engineering College in the year 2002 with an intake of 60 and M.Tech Biotechnology course is starting from the academic year 2010-11. The department is affiliated to JNTU and accredited by the
National Board of Accreditation (NBA) of AICTE w.e.f. 16.04.2009.
The Department is headed by
Prof. G.Venkateswerlu, who has more than 37 years of teaching and research experience in various fields of Biotechnology, and is assisted by a team of well qualified and highly experienced staff. The Department is having well equipped laboratories
and infrastructure. The students are trained with latest techniques in the field of Biotechnology. The department has the credit of achieving 100% pass in all the previous four years consecutively. Apart from the academics, they are also encouraged to carry their projects in the college and also in various reputed Institutes, Industries and Universities. Educational tours are organized to the students to visit various institutions and industries to be aware of developments in this field.
The Biotechnology department of JBREC organizes National level symposia serving as a platform to the biotechnology students across the country to share their ideas and views on the latest research and developments in this field, giving an opportunity to the students to interact with various scientists and industrial management.
The trained students acquired excellent placements and most of the students joined in masters course in India and in other countries like Sweden, U.S.A and U.K and etc.
