Information Technology

The Department of Information Technology is renowned for imparting state of the art undergraduate education and preparing its students for real world challenges. The fact that the department attracts the brightest students from the country who score very good ranks in the EAMCET & AIEEE is one of the factors of its glory. As a champion of one of the fast developing disciplines that demands rigorous practical analysis, the department pronounces the possession of well equipped Laboratories at which the main focus is laid on logical reasoning in every practical application. With the entire qualified and talented faculty, the department boasts of a unique mode of learning; the one that uses advanced aids for teaching. The Department was established in the year 2007 with an intake of 60 students which would be increased to 120.

The Department works in coordination with the following laboratories : Operating Systems Lab , System Programming Lab , UML Lab, Multimedia Lab , Computer Networks lab , Language Processors Lab, Database Management Systems Lab, Data Structures Lab, Advanced UNIX programming Lab, JAVA Lab, JKC Lab; all the labs are under the supervision of Computer Science Group (CSE, IT,MCA).
The students of IT are encouraged to come up with the ideas of their own and supports them by providing the facilities required to realize their ideas into actual projects. Many of the projects from our students have won awards in various competitions. Our students have won the credit of publishing regularly in reputed journals and established the tradition of participating in almost all the conferences. The department has a strong faculty, garnered from leading universities and is actively

involved in research activities. The department also attracts a regular stream of visiting professors. Our faculty is diligently involved in training the students and preparing them for the future requirements. The department has emerged as a model wing in a short time due to the efforts made by the committed faculty
The students can interact comfortably with all faculty on all matters related to studies. The curriculum gives them ample opportunity to work in complete cooperation from any faculty member and can approach them for any short term (a summer or a semester) project or a long term project.
More over, the students are always active in organizing various cultural and sports events. They have good teams for cricket, drawing & painting, anchoring and marketing. The department has

recently won 1st prize in Technoquest -2009 for best paper presentation. Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Kopuri (07J21A1252) is the class topper with 86% in the university exams. The department stood in the 2nd position in the pass percentage of the I year B.Tech exam, among all engineering colleges of JNTU. The department has technical association with “
INTAGLIO” that enables the students participate in various cultural and technical activities.

- S.SRIKANTH is runner in the event of TABLE TENNIS singles in state
level sports festival
UDYAT-2012 organized by “GOPAL REDDY COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY”.
- The first & second batch students performed very well and achieved a
very good passing result. 50% of the passed out students are already
employed in various organizations . More than 25% students are
pursuing MS abroad.
