Dr. Sanjiva Rao Bhaganagrapu is an eminent educationist, researcher and adminstrator.He obtained his
Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from Andhra Universsity College of Engineering in First Class
with Hons and Master of Science in Engineering in Electrical Machine Design from BHU Institute of
Technology in First class. He obtained his Ph.D. Degree inElectrical Engineering from University of
Ottawa, Canada on a Canadian Commonwealth Scholarship. He started his brilliant academic career
at Indian Institute of Technology,Delhi and later moved to Jawaharlal Nehru Technology University
Hyderabad as Professor and Chairman of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at
JNTU College of Engineering, Hyderabad. He held several important administrative positions at the
College and University such as Vice Principal, Director, Academic and Planning, Director, Institute of
Postgraduate studies and research and Director of Evaluation. He was a Visiting Professor at Military
Technical College, Baghdad, Iraq and Faculty of Engineering at Assumption University of Thailand,
Bangkok. While at Assumption University, he was the Director of Master of Engineering Program in Power Electronics .He initiated several postgraduate and research programs both at JNT University and
Assumption University ,Bangkok. He has implemented many MHRD projects such as Modernization
of Electrical Engineering Laboratories and Intelligent Control Systems.He has many publications
in international and national journals and attended and presented papers at several national and
international conferences. He has organized conferences at national and international level and
conducted summer schools and refreshers courses for engineering college teachers.
